It was a pleasure to contact a place in Greece that I have visited on a
number of occasions. My father was born in Laconia, specifically the
small village called Dafni just south of Sparti. I can't tell you how
wonderful it is to recall Mavrovouni beach or Trinisa beach once again.
Thank you for reminding me.

I really enjoyed your Gythio site & wanted to let you know. My wife and
We lived in Greece 1985-89 & visit when we can. We visited Gythio in
Oct92 & really enjoyed it. I was surprised to find a website about it
but have enjoyed looking at all the photos. It's very nicely done,
& would be a great help if we planned a trip back, even though we have
already been there. There are some things listed that we missed the
first time

I enjoyed your website on Gythion. I am planning a visit to the
Pelopponese, and particularly the Mani. I believe there is a book
called 'Deep into Mani' by E. Eliopoulos and P. Greenhalgh, published by
Faber, now out of print (last printed in mid-80s)... Do you happen to
know where I could find a copy. Do you have addresses for any bookshops
in Gythion which I could phone or write to in case they have it. I'd
be grateful for any suggestions.

Dear Dr. Politis: I found your Gythio site while surfing the web for information on Mani. I think you have some really nice pages and links. I've gotten quite a bit of information from them. My family will be coming to Mani this summer for a vacation. My grandparents come from Mani and I am hoping to visit their birthplace. Both my grandparents claim to come from "Mani". I was wondering if you might have heard of this town? Or if you might know of where I can get more information. Btw, I plan on eating plenty of fried marides when I get to Southern Peleponnese (I hope they have them there). In any event, I would certainly like to correspond with someone who is living in Mani Sincerely, Epathea Litmer (pronounced Ypatia)
